Education - Sydney

Sydney Observatory

The Sydney Observatory works hard to stimulate and engage those that are there to learn and specifically tailors each tour or visit to the age group. They explore the school curriculums set by the education department of New South Wales and evaluate how they can link in with it to educate school kids. Their philosophy is that making everyone feel included is the most important part of engaging with learners – they do their best to be sure every question asked is answered respectfully and honestly.

Museum of Contemporary Art Australia

The National Center for Creative Learning within the Museum of Contemporary Art is a facet of the facility that reaches out to everyone, but specifically to the youth and disabled people to help them learn and enjoy art. Their curriculums are developed by a central manager who works in conjunction with artist educators to bring an inclusive experience to the art world. They value the passion of the teachers which is why they hire artists as their teachers. Due to funding, it is hard for them to reach a lot of students, and they develop programs as best they can to get funding to get the students into the museum.
